The 32nd Annual Grand Illumination of James Center!

Bring your family to James Center for a beautiful (free) family tradition. James Center is very excited to present The RockNRoll Chorus as our featured performance!

This year, we are excited to showcase a brand new 46 foot tall LED tree!!!

Katie Dupree of WRIC 8 News will be our Snow Queen!

For early birds, SPARC will be Christmas Caroling in front of One James Center from 5 – 5:45 pm. From 5:30 – 5:50 p.m., VCU’s Pep Band: The Peppas will get the crowd ready for the Illumination. At 5:59 p.m. Santa, Play 103.7's Jack & Melissa and WRIC8's Juan Conde will count down the seconds to turn on the downtown office buildings lights AND James Center’s Great Tree & Reindeer! From 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., experience the magic of the holidays with two blocks of family entertainment.

Our entertainment includes: The RockNRoll Chorus, VCU’s Pep Band: The Peppas, Virginia Repertory Theatre’s Cast of, “A Christmas Story,” Richmond Boys Choir, The American Youth Harp Ensemble, Characters from the Nutcracker Cast, Flutes on the Go, Snow Bear, Singer Patsy Butler, the Virginia Piedmont & Central HO Model Railroad Club, Free Hot Cocoa & Cider by the James Center Y, Studio P's Disney Princesses and much more. Our Kids Stage in front of One James Center welcomes Silly Bus to perform!

For a fifth year, James Center is bringing awareness to Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now). SCAN will be at Grand Illumination collecting toys for 200 Richmond area children. During the holiday season, these children will be coming to James Center so their parents or guardians can “shop” for gifts. From Grand Illumination night until December 9, please bring unwrapped gifts for children ages 0-17 to the collection sleigh located in the Three James Center Lobby.

Street Closing: On Friday, December 2, 2016: A ½ block of South 10th Street will be closed from 10 am - 10 pm from the James Center Parking Deck to Cary Street. The Parking Garage will remain accessible from Canal Street onto 10th Street. The far right parking lane on Cary Street will close at 9 am and will remain closed until 12 am.

$3.00 parking is available in the parking deck on the corner of 10th & Canal Streets after 4:00 p.m.
